Abstract

My PhD research is looking at EU cities from a general public law perspective. Starting from the European constitutional principles of democracy, participation, subsidiarity, the thesis aims at elaborating a theoretical framework that EU cities could use for supporting civic participation through the commons. The case study included in the work is the Italian organizational model of “Shared administration of the commons”, that since the 2014 pioneering contribution of the city of Bologna has spread in around 300 other cities.
