My research focuses on Turkish foreign policy toward Armenia between 1991 and 2023. I aim to analyze how historical memory, in particular the debate over the recognition of the Armenian genocide, has affected attempts to normalize diplomatic relations between the two countries. In conducting this analysis, I will also consider the influence of regional, national and international factors, such as the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Turkey's transactionalism towards the European Union and the role of the Armenian diaspora, in shaping the political possibilities of the normalization process.
