Progetto di Ricerca: L’internazionalizzazione delle università sta trasformando i contesti accademici in ambienti sempre più multiculturali, nei quali i docenti internazionali si confrontano con nuove culture accademiche, pratiche pedagogiche ed aspettative istituzionali. La ricerca indaga come i Teaching and Learning Centres possano configurarsi come spazi di accompagnamento professionale interculturale per i docenti universitari internazionali. In particolare, lo studio esamina il ruolo delle pratiche di faculty development, delle interazioni professionali e degli spazi riflessivi nei processi di integrazione e costruzione dell’identità professionale. Il quadro teorico si basa sulle Communities of Practice di Wenger, sul reflective practitioner di Schön e sul transformative learning. La ricerca adotta un approccio qualitativo-esplorativo basato su analisi documentale, questionari e interviste semi-strutturate.
Research Project:The internationalisation of higher education is reshaping academic contexts into increasingly multicultural environments in which international faculty members engage with new academic cultures, pedagogical practices, and institutional expectations. This research investigates how Teaching and Learning Centres may function as spaces of intercultural professional accompaniment for international faculty members. In particular, the study examines the role of faculty development practices, professional interactions, and reflective spaces in processes of integration and professional identity construction. The theoretical framework integrates perspectives from faculty development, intercultural education, and academic identity studies, drawing on Wenger’s Communities of Practice, Schön’s reflective practitioner, and transformative learning theory. Methodologically, the study adopts a qualitative-exploratory approach based on document analysis, questionnaires, and semi-structured interviews.
