9^th edition Visiting Professor Program - academic year 2026/2027

Under its University Guidelines regarding Visiting Professors, Visiting Scholars and Fellows, the University of Macerata invites applications for 10 Visiting Professorships for the academic year 2027/2028.

Each Visiting Professorship involves a stay of eight consecutive weeks during the academic year 2027/2028 within either of the following periods:

• first semester: from 1 September 2027, with mobility ending by 23 December 2027;
• second semester: from 7 January 2028, with mobility ending by 15 July 2028.

Visiting Professors will carry out the following activities:

• Teaching: 15 hours of teaching in courses offered by the University Departments or in programs organized by the Schools of Specialization, PhD School, Giacomo Leopardi School of Higher Studies, or Istituto Confucio (info about Departments and Schools of UniMC). They may also include designing and delivering a MOOC in accordance with the format adopted by the University under the EDVANCE project;
• Research: conduct research activities, with a particular focus on developing international projects, in collaboration with the host Department’s research groups, addressing topics of mutual scientific interest.

 Visiting Professors will receive a mobility grants as follows:

• € 5,000.00 - for a 8-week consecutive stay.

Applicants must meet the following requirements by the application deadline:

• hold an active, formally recognised academic or research position at a university, higher education institution or research institution based outside Italy;
• hold the rank of full professor, associate professor or researcher, or an equivalent position under the rules of their home institution; postdoctoral researchers holding a formal research position at that institution are also eligible;
• are not resident in Italy.
