1. What does this call for applications promote and how many scholarships are offered?
A total of 19scholarships each amounting to EUR 8,000 is offered by the University of Macerata, Italy (ART. 1 of the call) to international students enrolling in the academic year 2025/2026 to study full-time in a 3-year bachelor's degree programme or a 2-year master's degree programme, whereof 2 scholarships are reserved to students selected in the framework of the agreement with the University of Hanoi (Vietnam).
2. I am not an Italian citizen: can I apply for this scholarship?
Yes, you can: the competition is open to all international students, understood as all EU citizens (excluding Italian citizens) and non-EU citizens residing abroad holding a foreign entry qualification valid for access to the chosen course of study. (ART 1 of the call).
3. I am an international student enrolled at the University of Macerata in a year following the first one of a study program: can I apply for this scholarship?
No, you can’t. The scholarships are reserved for international students who enrol for the very first time in the first year of a study program (3-year bachelor's or 2-year master's degree programme) at the University of Macerata in 2025/2026. (ART. 1 of the call).
4. I am an international student intending to transfer from another University: can I apply for this scholarship?
No, you can’t. (ART. 1 of the call).
5. I am an international student participating in a mobility program for a bachelor’s degree course (e.g. Erasmus+) with the University of Macerata: can I apply for this scholarship?
Yes, you can, but only if you are about to graduate in the bachelor's degree course, and you are applying for enrollment in a master's degree at the University of Macerata in the academic year 2025/2026.
6. I am an international student participating in a mobility program for a master's degree course (e.g. Erasmus+ or Multiple Degree) with the University of Macerata: can I apply for this scholarship?
No, you can't (ART. 1 of the call).
7. Are these scholarships compatible with the ones awarded within the “Invest Your Talent in Italy” program?
No, they aren’t (ART. 2 of the call).
8. Are these scholarships compatible with the ones offered to students who are beneficiaries of international protection?
No, they aren’t (ART. 2 of the call).
9. Can I be awarded another scholarship by the University of Macerata if I obtain this scholarship?
No, this scholarship is not cumulative with any others offered by the University of Macerata (ART. 2 of the call).
10. Can I be awarded another scholarship by the ERDIS (Regional Authority for the Right to Education of the Marche Region) if I obtain this scholarship?
No, this scholarship is not cumulative with any others awarded by the ERDIS. (ART. 2 of the call).
11. Can I apply for other grants if I have applied for this scholarship?
It is possible to submit multiple applications for other grants and scholarships. It is understood that, in case of multiple assignments, this scholarship is not compatible with other scholarships, as per art. 2 of the call.
12. Is there any age limit to apply for this scholarship?
Yes, this scholarship is reserved for those who were born on or after January 1, 2001, for bachelor's degree applicants, and after January 1, 1998, for master's degree applicants.
13. How can I apply for this scholarship?
As specified under ART. 3 of the call, applicants must satisfy, among others, the requirements for enrolment in the chosen degree programme before applying for this scholarship. To this end, candidates must submit a “pre-admission application” for a preliminary verification of the eligibility for enrolment no later than the 18th of April, 2025, 11:59 pm, Italian time. This application must be sent through only one of the following two options:
- online platform at apply.unimc.it: following the assessment of the “pre-admission application”, eligible candidates for enrolment will be sent a specific notification via email with the instructions to apply for this scholarship by May 12th, 2025 (11:59 pm, Italian time)
- application form (only for the programmes not available on the online platform): by submitting this form, the application will be evaluated; only eligible candidates holding the requirements for enrolling in the chosen programme will be invited to participate in the scholarship competition by May 12th, 2025 (11:59 pm, Italian time).
14. I cannot find the programme of my interest on the online platform at apply.unimc.it: can I apply for this scholarship?
Yes, you can: if the course of your interest is not available on the online platform at apply.unimc.it, submit your application through the specific form specified in the call (ART.3) no later than April 30, 2024 (11:59 pm, Italian time).
15. I am preparing my pre-admission application for a programme at apply.unimc.it but I have not submitted it yet: can I apply for this scholarship?
Yes, you can, but only after submitting your pre-admission application within the deadline of April 18th, 2025. You will receive a notification via email with the instructions to apply for this scholarship no later than May 12th, 2025 (11:59 pm, Italian time).
16. I have already submitted my application for pre-admission to a study program on apply.unimc.it and I have been accepted: how can I apply for this scholarship?
Being pre-admitted to a programme, you receive a notification with instructions on how to participate in this competition. The task specified in the notification is simply to answer “yes” or “no”: select “yes” no later than May 12th, 2025 (11:59 pm, Italian time) if you wish to apply for this scholarship; on the contrary “no”, if you are not interested in this scholarship.
17. I have selected “Yes”: should I submit any other documentation or media file now?
No other documentation or media file is required or must be uploaded within the application. The Selection Committee will assess the applications according to the contents of the pre-admission application on the online platform at apply.unimc.it.
18. I have selected “Yes”: do I need to edit my application there? If I do that, does my application need to be assessed one more time and my pre-admission letter will be invalid?
After confirming your participation in this scholarship call, you don’t need to edit your pre-admission application, nor it will be re-evaluated, nor the pre-admission letter already sent will become invalid.
19. I have selected “No”: will my pre-admission letter will be invalid?
If you wish not to participate in this scholarship call, your enrolment eligibility in the chosen programme remains valid, as well as the already sent pre-admission letter.
20. When will I know if I am awarded this scholarship?
The ranking list will be published after the established deadline for participating in the competition and at the end of the selection procedures (ART. 5 of the call).
21. I have been notified to be awarded this scholarship: what to do next?
As specified under ART. 6 of the call, you must confirm your acceptance to be awarded this scholarship no later than 10 days after receipt of the notification. Subsequently, you must complete the enrolment as a full-time student of the first year of the chosen programme in the 2025/2026 academic year.
