Un caffè con il Rettore — Puntata zero 

Venerdì 20 marzo 2026, in occasione della Giornata Nazionale delle Università promossa dalla CRUI sotto il titolo Università Svelate, l'Università di Macerata inaugura il suo nuovo format di incontri in diretta streaming: Un caffè con il Rettore.

La puntata zero è un incontro speciale. Il Rettore John McCourt dialoga con Haidar Al-Ghazali, 21 anni, poeta di Gaza e studente di UNIMC, arrivato a Macerata nell'ambito del progetto IUPALS — Italian Universities for Palestinian Students, il programma della CRUI che ha aperto corridoi universitari sicuri per giovani palestinesi.

Una conversazione in inglese su scrittura, resistenza, accoglienza e futuro. Con la lettura di alcune poesie

A Coffee with the Rector — Episode ZeroWriting to Exist

On March 20, 2026, as part of the National University Day promoted by CRUI under the title Università Svelate (Universities Unveiled), the University of Macerata launches its new live streaming format: A Coffee with the Rector.

The opening episode is a special encounter. Rector John McCourt sits down with Haidar Al-Ghazali, a 21-year-old poet from Gaza and student at UNIMC, who arrived in Macerata through the IUPALS project — Italian Universities for Palestinian Students, the CRUI programme that has opened safe academic pathways for young Palestinians.

A conversation in English about writing, resistance, hospitality and the future. With the reading of poems.
