ERUA Intensive Course: “The Democracy Quest: Building the Citizen’s Shield”

Apply for the ERUA Intensive Course “The Democracy Quest: Building the Citizen’s Shield”, taking place from 16 to 18 November 2026 at SWPS University in Katowice, Poland.

It's a three-day simulation course involving role-playing games, thorugh which students will explore the evolution of democratic tools, from ancient assemblies to the contemporary European Union. Debates and negotiations will be at the heart of the group activities: participants will step into different political systems and work together to address social and political challenges, while developing skills in critical thinking, debate, negotiation and collaboration.

The course is open to Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD students, is taught in English and awards 3 ECTS credits. Students from ERUA partner universities who are selected for the programme may apply for travel and accommodation funding through their home university’s ERUA Office.
