Discontinuance and Exclusion

Information on discontinuing your student career and ending your course of studies due to exclusion.

Discontinuing your Student Career

By discontinuing your student career, you break off relations with the University of Macerata unilaterally. This entails the loss of your student status and it also ends your student career. You may apply for validation of exams you have passed and credits you have acquired by the relevant teaching bodies in case you re-enrol in a degree course.

NOTICE: If you wish to discontinue your student career, you must be to date or provide with the payment of the tuition fees and duties as specified below:

  1. if you submit the application for discontining your student career by January 31 falling under the academic year of last enrollment: you must be up to date with the payment of 50% of the annual tuition fees as determined on the basis of the regulation on student contributions for the academic year of last enrollment, in addition to the regional tax and stamp duty (corresponding to the first installment);
  2. if you submit the application for discontining your student career beyond January 31 falling under the academic year of last enrollment: you must be up to date with payment of the whole amount of the annual tuition fees as determined on the basis of the regulation on student contributions for the academic year of last enrollment, in addition to the regional tax and stamp duty (corresponding to the first installment);
  3. applications submitted by students enrolled in the first year by November 15 are excluded from the above-mentioned provisions. With reference to the numerus clausus-restricted access study programmes, the deadline for application is set on the fifteenth day following the specific enrollment deadline. The amount of the first installment is not refundable in any case.

When to apply: you can discontinue your student career at any time.

How to apply:

  1. Fill in the relevant form and return it to one of the following email addresses: servizio.protocollo@unimc.it or the certified email address (PEC): ateneo@pec.unimc.it, attaching a front/rear copy of a valid identity document belonging to you.
  2. Once your application has been processed, the Student Administration Office of the Department offering the course of your choice will upload the notice for payment through PagoPa onto your Login Area in the ‘Payments’ section (Pagamenti) of the studenti.unimc.it website. Such notice concerns payment of the revenue stamp of €16,00 due for submitting your application.

Please note! If you discontinue your student career, you are not entitled to a refund of fees and tax paid, except for provisions specified in Rimborsi e conguagli (Refund and Adjustment, ITA)

If you have discontinued your student career at the University of Macerata or at another university, within the relevant closing date, you may enrol in a new course on offer, and you may apply for validation of previous student career  following the required procedure outlined on the Resumption of Student Career webpage (Ripresa degli studi).

Exclusion

The University of Macerata has not excluded students from its courses since academic year 2013/2014. If you have not performed as a student in your career for more than eight academic years, degree courses regulations may limit validation of exams you have passed and of previous attendance compliance.

If you have been excluded from courses at this University or at another university before academic year 2013/2014, within the relevant closing date, you may re-enrol in a new course on offer and you may apply for validation of previous student career following the required procedure outlined on the Resumption of Student Career webpage (Ripresa degli studi).
