HRS4R - MAIN ACHIEVEMENTS
ETHICS AND RESEARCH INTEGRITY
- Purchase of the anti-plagiarism software Turnitin, in order to support research integrity (action 61)
- Endorsement to the principles of the Bonn Declaration on Freedom of Scientific Research and to the Magna Charta Universitatum 2020 (action 59)
- Creation of “RicercaMag”, Scientific Dissemination and Social Impact newsletter of the University of Macerata. A section of “RicercaMag” with all the news about prizes, recognitions or awardsachieved by UNIMC researchers has been also included within the weekly official UNIMC Newsletter (action 68)
OPEN SCIENCE & DATA MANAGEMENT
- Adoption of a Policy for Open Access to Scientific Publication and Research Data Management (action 62)
- Creation of a vademecum on how to manage and store research data, in compliance with the FAIR principles (action 63)
- Establishment of the data steward role within the University, to support data management and the creation of the Data Management Plan (DMP) (action 64)
- Elaboration of a Roadmap on Open Science (action 65)
TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
- Creation of tutorials to provide research staff with transversal skills on fundamental themes as Open Science, Open Access, Data management and impact of research (action 86)
- Creation of the Mentor Club for PhD students and post-doc researchers (action 57)
- Creation of personal pages for post-doc researchers within the Faculty members section and for PhD students in their own section (action 80)
- Development of career orientation courses for PhD students, such as the training events “FindYourDoc” (orientation sessions aimed at providing reflection on professional future, research skills and how to leverage them, and resources in their professional network) or the training path “La formazione umanistica in ambito aziendale” (Humanistic Education in the Corporate Sector), a series of training events about strategies for successfully approaching the labor market (action 88)
- Adoption of the Career Development Plan within the Doctoral School
INTERNATIONALISATION OF RESEARCH
- Launch of the Professors mobility programme (MO.DOC) to foreign countries to provide financial support to UNIMC researchers wishing to conduct research or teaching activities at foreign universities or research institutions (action 71)
- Publication of 3 calls (from 2022 to 2024) to sustain the international mobility of PhD students within the framework of their doctoral training (action 73)
INTERDISCIPLINARITY OF RESEARCH
- Promotion of interdisciplinary and intersectoral research among young researchers through a specific call for proposals for university research projects. The call included four funding schemes, two of which were specifically designed to support Early Stage Researchers (action 75)
RECRUITMENT, WORKING CONDITIONS AND REMUNERATION
- Standardization of recruitment procedures
- Implementation of the e-recruitment platform (named PICA) to manage the recruitment of all types of researchers. Thanks to PICA, applications, evaluation processes and communication of results are managed in an online platform in compliance with principles of openness and transparency (action 34)
- Creation of a vademecum for newly hired researchers with practical information, but also with information about research policies at Unimc (action 66)
- Organisation of a training event on OTM-R principles (action 79)
- Adoption of a University policy for OTM-R (action 16)
GENDER
- Adoption of a Gender Equality Plan (action 83) with five areas of intervention:
1. Inclusive organisational culture and work-life balance
2. Gender balance in governance
3. Equality in recruitment and careers
4. Gender approach in research and teaching
5. Measures against stereotypes, violence and harassment - Elaboration of the UNIMC gender budgeting, which will be a valuable tool for implementing more targeted actions based on their impact on women and men. It will also support a more informed allocation of resources and the reclassification of expenditures that contribute to gender disparities (action 84)
- Elaboration of guidelines for Gender-Inclusive Language in Academic and Administrative Contexts (action 83)
- Elaboration of Guidelines for promoting gender balance in science events (action 83)
- Implementation on training courses on Gender Equality (action 85)
WELFARE AND WELL-BEING
- Implementation of a psychological counselling service to support young researchers, as well as students (action 82)
