UNIMC Observatory

The UNIMC Observatory’s Semiannual Report: Skills, Opportunities, and Inclusion of Graduates was created to provide an up-to-date and comprehensive analysis of young graduates’ entry into the workforce, with a particular focus on the NEET phenomenon—that is, young people who are not in education, employment, or training. The report focuses on the situation in the Marche Region but is part of a broader national context, with the goal of providing a snapshot that can guide both the decisions of universities and public policies on youth employment.

This first semi-annual report is based on robust data drawn from official sources such as ISTAT, AlmaLaurea, and Unioncamere–Excelsior, supplemented by regional data from CGIL–IRES Marche and in-depth analyses from independent research centers such as Openpolis and ADAPT. A cross-analysis of employment rates, unemployment rates, contract types, and wage levels allows for a detailed examination of graduates’ transition from education to the workforce, both one and five years after graduation.

The second semi-annual report is dedicated to strategies for the inclusion of people with disabilities.
The analysis places the issue within the Italian regulatory and cultural context, highlighting progress in access to higher education and persistent challenges in the transition to the workforce, with a focus on the Marche Region. Using data from ISTAT, AlmaLaurea, the OECD, and CNEL, the report highlights employment inequalities and the structural, cultural, and organizational barriers faced by people with disabilities.
Particular attention is given to the role of universities, employment services, and active labor market policies in promoting employability.
