EU Careers Ambassadors

For the 2026–2027 academic year, the University of Macerata is participating in the EU Careers Ambassadors program, managed by the European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO) and promoted by the Directorate General for Europe and International Trade Policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI). The initiative involves students from European universities with the goal of connecting the academic world with the career opportunities offered by the institutions of the European Union.

🧭 The Ambassador's Role

The EU Careers Student Ambassador will serve as a key point of contact for students interested in learning more about competitions, traineeships, and career opportunities within the European Institutions. The Ambassador's role will be to disseminate information, promote events and career guidance activities, and help raise awareness of EU careers within the student community.

This is a highly valuable learning experience that enables participants to develop communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, while collaborating with a network of Student Ambassadors from universities across Europe.

The expected commitment is approximately two hours per week.

📅 Duration and Training

The appointment will run throughout the 2026/2027 academic year.

The programme includes mandatory in-person initial training in Luxembourg on 3–4 October 2026. Travel and accommodation expenses will be fully covered by EPSO.

Participation in the training is a mandatory requirement for taking on the role.

✅ Eligibility

Applications are open to students who are regularly enrolled at the University of Macerata, preferably in:

  • the first year of a Master's degree programme, or
  • the second year of a Bachelor's degree or a single-cycle Master's degree,

provided that they will remain at the University for the entire 2026/2027 academic year without participating in any mobility programmes.

Applicants must:

  • hold Italian citizenship or the citizenship of another European Union Member State;
  • have an excellent command of Italian;
  • demonstrate a good command of English, certified at B2 level or higher.

Particular consideration will be given to candidates with:

  • knowledge of European Union law;
  • strong personal motivation;
  • excellent communication and organizational skills;
  • previous experience in related fields.

📝 How to Apply

The following documents must be attached to the application:

  • a Europass Curriculum Vitae;
  • a certificate of enrolment (self-certification) including the list of completed examinations;
  • an English language certificate at B2 level or higher;
  • a valid identity document;
  • a one-page motivation letter explaining the reasons for applying and the contribution the candidate intends to make to the project.

Selection will be based on the qualifications and documents submitted. The final ranking will be published on the dedicated page of the University website.
