Introduction to European research policy

The European Research Area (ERA) aims to create a unique space for research, innovation and technology in the EU, ensuring the free movement of researchers and knowledge. The goals of ERA and EU research and innovation policy are to:

  • Invest in R&I for a green and digital future
  • Improve researchers' access to infrastructure and equipment
  • Support researchers’ mobility, skills and career opportunities
  • Promote gender equality and diversity
  • Foster Open Science practices

The University of Macerata pursues the goals of the EU research and innovation policy and carries out activities in line with ERA principles. The University's commitment in this regard has been concretely recognized by the European Commission, which awarded the University of Macerata the HR Excellence in Research logo in 2014 and renewed it in 2021.

Among the various actions undertaken as part of HRS4R, the University offers webinars to its graduates, early-career researchers and more experienced researchers with the aim of promoting the pillars of EU research policy.
