Ethics

Social sciences and humanities research have ethical implications particularly with regard to the methods of processing personal data, as well as in the use of existing data previously stored in databases. Furthermore, in the case of research conducted in third countries, it is necessary to carry out the research in compliance with European legislation.

Submitting research projects to national, European or international institutions, or submitting articles to major international journals, implies to give answers to all the possible ethical implications of research activities.

With this aim, the University of Macerata has a research ethics committee with the purpose of expressing opinions on research projects or scientific publications, to ensure them complies with ethical principles by national, European and international legislation.
