Curricula: Administration and Management (L19-AG/11) – Politics and Economy (L19-PE/11) – Profession (L19-P/11) – International Relations (L19-RI/11)

The course provides interdisciplinary knowledge in the fields of political science, law, economy, sociology, history and languages, necessary to understand and deal with public and private issues regarding the complexity of modern societies.

Course structure consists of four different learning pathways equipping all students in the first year with a common and thorough grounding. The following two years gradually vary on the grounds of specialisms in the chosen pathway.

The ‘Administration and Management’ pathway provides an insight into the main legal and organizational tools for managing complex organizational-functional bodies. Moreover, it trains professionals to organize or manage both public institutions and private companies.

The ‘Politics and Economy’ pathway focuses on the in-depth study of quantitative analysis in the field of politics and economy. It engages students in the economic planning of both public and private operators.

The ‘Profession’ learning pathway is designed for students who already work and wish to further develop their professional skills.

The ‘International Relations’ pathway seeks to help students develop the ability to analyze in political, legal, economic, historical and sociological terms relations between States and supranational, governmental and non-governmental organizations.

Graduates have the opportunity to pursue a career in both the public and private sector, opting for roles in public administration in the former case, and in the tertiary and in commerce (including hotels and other public commercial concerns) in the latter.

Applicants are to meet the following requirements:

  1. Secondary school-leaving qualification or equivalent qualification.
  2. Adequate basic knowledge of language, history, politics and sociology.

With regards to the second requirement, students holding a secondary school-leaving qualification or equivalent qualification bearing a mark equal to or above 70/100 (42/60 if issued under previous regulations) are admitted to the course.

Students holding the above mentioned qualification bearing a mark lower than 70/100 are required to join orientation activities and take tests organized by the Department at the beginning of each semester.
