The course is entirely taught in English. It develops the broad mastery of analytical tools typical of the various core modules: political science, economics, sociology, history, law and, of course, foreign languages. An inter-disciplinary approach together with the international feature provided by foreign students ensure greater adaptability on part of graduates and, hence, their greater employability in other countries too.

Final competencies slightly differ in the three learning pathways that are part of the course, therefore students may choose to study more in depth topics related to legal and institutional issues or economic and managerial ones or opt for a balanced combination of the two.

The course offers different learning pathways to equip students with the leadership and managerial skills needed to hold high-profile roles in varied sectors within ministries, in particular the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, international GOs and NGOs, globally oriented private and public businesses, international cooperation agencies.

To be admitted applicants are to meet course entry requirements and to have an adequate personal level of knowledge. Applicants not holding a degree in class L-36 (formerly Class 15) Political and International Relations Science or similar degree may be admitted after course entry requirements have been assessed to ascertain they possess the basic multi-subject education needed to study at postgraduate level in line with the chosen learning pathway.
