Civic University

The Unimc Civic University project aims to spark reflection within communities, enabling them to respond to the values, needs, and expectations of European society, while at the same time strengthening the University’s sense of belonging to the local community.

CIVIC UNIVERSITY is a public engagement project that involves the creation of an urban laboratory for the dissemination of knowledge in the fields of public well-being, sustainability, inclusivity, and interculturalism. It aims to foster a greater openness within the community toward a global perspective, with the involvement of social actors during the most significant moments of democratic life. In this sense, the University takes a leading role in cultural innovation within the urban space, drawing on its expertise and its political, institutional, and relational networks.

To this end, an annual civic calendar of outreach initiatives is promoted, aimed at all citizens and focusing on the key issues of greatest importance for a democratic, inclusive, and sustainable community, in collaboration with key institutional partners, in particular, local authorities, the Prefecture, and the Macerata Police Headquarters, and with the vibrant world of cultural associations.
