Philosophy is a fundamental aspect of all human cultures, a form of knowledge necessary for comprehending existence and for navigating in the world in which we live. The critical and reflective nature of philosophy allows us to consider events, the dynamics of reality and the problems of life through a holistic lens, avoiding one-sidedness and fragmentation. After the three-year course of study, philosophy graduates will have a solid foundation of the necessary knowledge and skills, which can be further developed and refined during the master's degree course -: they learn how "to learn", how to interpret phenomena and discourse, how to argue and discuss critically, how to configure artificial scenarios and develop new perspectives. This knowledge, characterised by cognitive flexibility, methodological rigour and categorical competence, represents a crucial intellectual asset of fundamental importance in today's society and in professional world. The subjects included in the courses of study in Philosophy and in Philosophy Sciences offer a solid philosophical education and include the areas of history, psychology, and pedagogy. This preparation provides the necessary skills for those interested in teaching (it is possible to acquire all the credits for enrolling in secondary school entrance examinations with the completion of studies from the three-year degree to the master's degree), but also for those who wish to become researchers or who intend enter the world of enterprise or services (it is possible to choose subjects in the economic, sociological and legal spheres during the three-year course, including economics, sociology and law). The course is divided into two curricula: - Philosophy and Philosophy and Society.

The three-year course is designed to prepare students for a career in several professional sectors in traditional and multimedia publishing, culture promotion, public and private event organization and projects public administration.

An adequate level of prior knowledge is required, which will be tested by means of TOLC (CISIA online test). This is not a limited access course, consequently, any student scoring below the minimum threshold established by the programme can still enrol but additional educational activities will be guaranteed to compensate for any gaps (so-called additional educational obligations - OFA). These activities must be completed within the first year of the course. For more information about the various types of TOLC and minimum thresholds please consult the page TOLC Types and Minimum Thresholds.
