The main aim of the course is to bring to a focus the enhancement and revitalization of regional areas contributing to promoting change in the policy maker's vision strategy. That may be achieved training human capital capable of mastering the new or renewed skills needed in the public sector to foster sustainable welfare services and in the private sector to join the transition towards the circular economy of processes and products.

INSTITUTIONS PATHWAY

Overall the course broadens the understanding of issues and skills related to: territorial planning, development and implementation of public policies, economic, social and environmental sustainability. In particular, the course focuses on social sustainability policies (national and supranational welfare), environmental problems caused by industrial policies, the role of production activities and consumption on environmental sustainability and economic development.

MARKETS PATHWAY

The course provide the opportunity to strengthens specific competencies related to territorial planning, economic, social and environmental sustainability with regards to business issues within the context of local production, and in connection with international competition. That is achieved offering that business know-how required for innovation, and the management and organization of companies and tax law.

Graduates will have access to careers within: public institutions, local, national and supranational bodies; international, national and local economics investigation bodies; companies providing public utility services; local development agencies, non-profit organizations, intermediate institutions (Chambers of Commerce, local foundations, local authorities, local trade associations); economic and economic-environmental consultancy firms; agri-food, manufacturing and service businesses; companies operating in the circular economy; consulting firms in the various management areas (administrative/financial/operations /marketing); real business service centers.

In order to enroll in the undergraduate course in Economy, Territory and the Environment students are required to hold a secondary school-leaving diploma or fully validated equivalent foreign qualification in line with existing laws. Students are expected to have a basic knowledge of Italian and Mathematics, and preferably English and Information Technology. Their prior secondary education should allow them to understand a wide range of lexis and texts, as well as display logical reasoning, comprehension ability and numerical skills. Orienting activities and special preparation courses are organized (corsi di azzeramento) with the aim of supporting student enrolling in the course.
