Digital Communication and Cultures
The course equips students with the skills and competences needed for high-profile roles in emerging sectors of employment in information technology and communications in the public and private sectors, in the cultural industry, in publishing, advertising and in the creative field , while offering the opportunity to use state-of-the-art multimedia technology. The course provides students with: in-depth knowledge in the Italian and international information industry; an understanding of public and private information production, transmission and exchange; the skills to master multimedia information technology in the field of cultural, publishing, video, advertising, social network, literary, as well as business, economics and administration communications; organizational and managerial competencies needed for high-profile roles in public and private organizations and for dealing with internal and external communications within institutions and businesses by means of multimedial tools too. The course includes developing language skills in Italian and other foreign languages besides cross-cultural competencies such as digital, semiological, economic, psychological, law, artistic, and literary skills essential to work in communication. Core modules are completed with an increasing range of workshops designed to guarantee a hands-on approach to course subjects.
Essential learning outcomes involve gaining and developing the skills needed to work as managers and professionals in positions of responsibility in information and communication in the public and private sectors, in the cultural, publishing, advertising and creative industries, in the business sector, and in digital and multimedia communication.
To be admitted applicants are to meet course entry requirements and to have an adequate personal level of knowledge. Applicants wishing to enrol on this class LM-19 Master’s course are to hold a degree in class L-20 Communications Science or a degree issued according to prior regulations or equivalent and formerly valid foreign qualification. Applicants holding a degree in other fields may enrol on the L-19 Master’s course provided they meet specific course entry requirements.
