The University of Macerata has published the call for entries for “Frequenze Sostenibili: Radio RUM per il Cambiamento” (Sustainable Frequencies: Radio RUM for Change), an ideas competition inviting students to design new formats for the university's web radio station. The initiative aims to promote creativity, participation, and awareness of sustainability issues, in line with the university's strategic values: knowledge sharing, community belonging, relationship with the local area, international openness, and inclusion.

The competition is open to two categories:

Students of higher education institutions who are of legal age at the deadline for the call for entries;

UniMc students enrolled in undergraduate, doctoral, and postgraduate programs.

Participants, either individually or in groups, are asked to develop a radio or podcast format consisting of 6-12 episodes of 15-30 minutes each. Proposed topics include: environmental sustainability, circular economy, climate crisis, social inclusion, gender equality, promotion of local resources, and environmental communication.

A committee will select one winning project for each category. Both will receive a prize of €670, which will also be used to cover the costs of producing the format.
