ERUA English Language Café is back this autumn
The ERUA English Language Café returns this autumn with a new series of online meetings from September to December 2026, offering members of the ERUA community an informal opportunity to practise English, exchange experiences and connect with colleagues from across the Alliance.
Rather than traditional language lessons, the Language Café sessions are based on relaxed and friendly conversations in English. There are no lectures or tests: participants can practise their speaking skills, share stories and experiences, and gain confidence in using English in an international working environment.
The sessions are designed particularly with the needs of non-academic staff in mind, but are open to everyone in the ERUA community, regardless of their level of confidence in speaking English.
Meetings will take place online on Thursdays, from 11:30 to 12:30 CET, according to the following programme:
24 September – English as a Shared Language: Frustrations, Tips, and Small Talk
29 October – Working Across Languages and Cultures: Personal Perspectives
26 November – Work Meetings, Events, and Business Trips: Survival Guide
17 December – The Good News Club: Sharing Stories, Achievements, and Reasons for Optimism
Members of the University of Macerata community are invited to join the sessions and take advantage of this opportunity to practise English while getting to know colleagues from other ERUA universities.
Participants are kindly asked to fill in the registration form in advance, helping the organisers tailor the sessions to the number and needs of participants
