ERUA DAY – December 12, 2025
December 12 marks ERUA Day, a day dedicated to the European Reform University Alliance: an opportunity to strengthen the Alliance's local community, highlight the work of those who drive it forward, and raise awareness of the many opportunities offered to students.
The 2025 edition, hosted by the University of Macerata, will take place at the headquarters in Via Garibaldi 20, with activities designed to involve all members of the university and partner universities, including official events, creative workshops, games, and interactive experiences. Each activity will be coordinated by members of the UniMc Local Board.
A morning to share results and visions
The day will begin at the State Library with official greetings: the European anthem, a speech by UniMc Rector and ERUA President John McCourt, and video messages from the Alliance Rectors, followed by the voices of ERUA students.
The focus of the morning will be a keynote speech dedicated to the results achieved in this year of collaboration between the universities in the network: data, testimonials, and future prospects for continued growth together.
Creative workshops to talk about ERUA through stories
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the focus will shift to the work of the local ERUA teams: presentation of the new governance and a storytelling workshop in which participants will discuss, exchange ideas, and create materials and props to enliven the afternoon's activities.
Games, contests, and socializing: ERUA tailored to students
From 2 p.m. onwards, the Philosophy department will become the beating heart of the event:
- The ERUA Humanist Goose Game – an ERUA-themed board game to move, think, and grow together, with surprises and prizes;
- Art Contest – the award ceremony for the art competition dedicated to the Alliance.
A finale of music and teamwork
From 4 p.m. in the Aula Magna, the official closing ceremony will be accompanied by an online concert that will virtually unite the entire ERUA network.
Immediately afterwards, the party will resume with new activities designed to create connections:
- Ambassadors' Station with a “dream wall,” gadgets, info point, and ERUA passports;
- “Say ERUA!” Photo Booth with handmade sets and Polaroids for a fun social media promotion;
- Treasure Hunt – The Great ERUA Quest between the Orto dei Pensatori and the surrounding area, with puzzles about the cultures of the Alliance;
- Game Up! It's ERUA with international game tables: chess, backgammon, UNO cards, and Neapolitan cards.
Music, languages, and fun to end the day
From 8 p.m., the party will move to Bifolchi Divini with an aperitif and multilingual karaoke, accompanied by a playlist curated by the members of the Local Board: because ERUA is about collaboration, exploration, and above all... the desire to be together.
