ERUA announce that the Book of Abstracts and the Programme of the ERUA Online Biennale “Arts & Edges” have been released.

The Online Biennale “Arts & Edges”, which will be hosted by the University of the Aegean on November 28–29, 2025, brings together academics, researchers, artists, and social actors from across the European Reform University Alliance (ERUA) to explore the dynamic intersections of the arts, research, and society.

This year’s Biennale opens a reflective and creative space around the concept of the edge, understood as a zone of transition, encounter, and transformation in relation to the arts. Through interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration, participants engage with themes such as migration and borders, environmental transition, democracy and inclusion, interculturality, and artistic practices rooted in local contexts.

We are honoured to welcome our keynote speakers, Barbara Bolt, Professorial Fellow at the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne, noted scholar of artistic research, and Stelarc, renowned performance artist.

You are warmly invited to explore the gallery of people involved on our website and the full program of sessions and contributions that shape this year’s event. We anticipate the participation of over 100 people in this two-day gathering of artistic and academic exchange.

We look forward to welcoming you online and sharing in this collective exploration of “Arts & Edges”.

The Biennale will be held within the framework of ERUA WP5: “Achieving Social Change in ERUA’s Local Communities and Regions”.
