Join the Action for Climate hike
Once again this year, the University of Macerata, together with other universities in the Marche region, is participating in Action for Climate 2026, as part of Climbing for Climate, promoted by the Network of Universities for Sustainable Development (RUS) and the Italian Alpine Club (CAI), now in its seventh edition.
This year, the event will take place on Saturday, October 3, on Monte Conero, featuring a loop trail starting from downtown Sirolo (near the gardens), passing by San Michele Beach, climbing up to Passo del Lupo, and returning via Quadrivio, the cemetery, and downtown Sirolo.

We invite participants to bring their plastic bottle caps to the event—in support of the Jesi Clean project to build wells, schools, and other facilities in Uganda—as well as any unused eyeglasses, which will be refurbished and donated to people in need by the Lions Club of Fano.
Excursion Schedule
- 9:00 a.m.* – Sirolo parking lot (near the gardens)
- 4:00 p.m. – Return
*7:45 a.m. – A minibus will be available, departing from Macerata at 7:45 a.m. (max. 7 people)
Only UniMc students may use the shuttle bus, by reservation only, subject to availability
What to bring
Lunch: Packed lunch
Water: At least 1.5–2 liters per person
Required: Hiking boots with treaded soles, layered clothing, and a waterproof or windproof jacket.
