The European University Viadrina (Frankfurt/Oder), partner ERUA, invites applications for Viadrinicum 2025, a transdisciplinary summer school focused on urban ruptures and reimaginations in Central and Eastern Europe, particularly in the context of the Eastern Partnership countries.
Through a mix of academic and non-academic formats, the program will explore how cities are shaped by histories of neglect, governance structures, and emancipatory urban practices. Participants will take part in three thematic lab.workshops (Doc.Lab, Makers.Lab, Planners.Lab), developing small group projects that engage with local communities in the cross-border region of Frankfurt (Oder)-Słubice.
The school offers:
Workshops and participatory urban interventions
Roundtables with researchers from ZOiS (Berlin)
Film screenings and public events
Open Space sessions for sharing participants' work
Eligibility:
Students, PhD candidates, NGO activists, and artists up to 35 years old
Strong interest in transdisciplinary approaches
Good command of English
Travel scholarships and free accommodation are available for selected participants.
