WINS Project: Renewed Partnership Between Universities and Cooperative Banks to Support Start-ups and Spin-offs in the Marche Region
The University of Macerata has renewed its participation in the WINS – To Winnow Start Up project, an initiative promoted by the Marche Federation of Cooperative Credit Banks (Federazione Marchigiana delle Banche di Credito Cooperativo) in collaboration with the four universities of the Marche Region. The project aims to support the creation and growth of innovative start-ups and academic spin-offs.
This renewed partnership reflects a shared commitment to strengthening the regional innovation ecosystem by fostering knowledge transfer from academia to industry and creating new opportunities for the development of high-impact entrepreneurial ideas.
Through the WINS Project, students, researchers, PhD candidates, research fellows, and academic staff can access a dedicated support programme that includes:
- Mentoring and personalised guidance;
- Support in developing and validating business models;
- Networking opportunities with companies, investors, and innovation stakeholders;
- Guidance on funding opportunities and access to finance.
For the University of Macerata, participation in the project represents an important component of its technology transfer and research valorisation strategy, complementing existing initiatives designed to promote academic entrepreneurship and support the transformation of innovative ideas into sustainable business ventures.
The collaboration between the universities of the Marche Region and the Cooperative Credit Banking system highlights the importance of a strong regional network capable of connecting research, expertise, entrepreneurship, and industry, thereby contributing to the economic and social development of the region.
