Commissioned Activities
The University of Macerata carries out commissioned research and services on behalf of public and private organisations in full accordance with its primary institutional missions of teaching, research, and public engagement, as well as the principles established by the University's Statute and internal regulations.
These activities are entrusted to the University and carried out through its academic departments, research facilities, and specialised staff, ensuring that commissioned work does not interfere with the University's institutional responsibilities.
In accordance with the University regulation (Rector's Decree No. 161 of 1 April 2025), the University may undertake the following activities:
a) Research Activities: Innovative research projects of a scientific or technical nature, including theoretical, applied, and experimental research. These activities may involve the investigation of advanced methodologies and emerging topics, as well as technology transfer, support for industrial research, and pre-competitive development.
b) Education and Training: The design, organisation, management, and delivery of training courses, seminars, conferences, and workshops under the scientific responsibility of University academic staff, provided that such activities fall outside the University's regular degree programmes.
c) Consultancy Services: The provision of scientific and technical advice, expert opinions, and assessments based on the University's academic expertise. Consultancy activities may also include certification services, support for technology transfer, industrial research, and pre-competitive innovation projects.
d) Standard Scientific Services: Standardised scientific services involving the use of the University's laboratories, equipment, and technical facilities to perform testing, analyses, calibration, measurements, and quality control. These services may result in the issuance of official certificates reporting measurement or test results, without interpretative reports or expert opinions, allowing clients immediate use of the generated data.
e) Professional and Technical Services: Any other consultancy, administrative, technical, or scientific service not covered by the previous categories, provided in response to the specific needs of external clients.
