Google Challenge HAMU 2026: put your AI skills to the test!
Interested in artificial intelligence? Want to learn how to use tools like Gemini and turn your ideas into real projects while working with students from other universities?
On Friday, 13 November 2026, the Google Challenge HAMU brings together students from ten universities across Abruzzo, Marche and Umbria, including the University of Macerata, for a day of learning, creativity and teamwork, in collaboration with Google for Education.
Here's what to expect:
Morning – Learn: join the Gemini Academy for Student, a Google for Education masterclass where you'll discover how to use Gemini and NotebookLM effectively, creatively and responsibly.
Afternoon – Take the challenge: team up with 5–7 students from different academic backgrounds, develop an innovative idea in just four hours and pitch your project to a jury in seven minutes.
The best teams will qualify for the final round at the University of L'Aquila by the end of November, where four winning teams will be selected.
Who can participate?
The Challenge is open to bachelor's, master's and single-cycle degree students enrolled at participating universities. No previous AI expertise or pre-formed team is required! Simply apply individually, and the organisers will assign you to a team.
Participation is free, and students will receive a Google for Education Certificate of Attendance to add to their CV.
Activities will take place at three venues, with details communicated to participants by 6 November.
Apply by 3 November 2026!
