Maritime Affairs and Law of the Sea (MarSeaLaw)

The Interest Group on "Maritime Affairs and Law of the Sea" (MarSeaLaw), in line with the statutory purposes of the China Center, has among its main objectives:

  • to undertake interdisciplinary and comparative research on the Law of the Sea and Maritime Affairs, with a focus on the Asian seas;
  • to improve knowledge and understanding of the Chinese and Asian approach to the Law of the Sea and Maritime Affairs;
  • to develop and maintain skills  on the Law of the Sea and Maritime Affairs in the Marche Region;
  • to provide legal and policy advice on the Law of the Sea and Maritime Affairs to the national and local institutions, non-governmental organizations and private entities;
  • to promote collaboration in the field of Law of the Sea and Maritime Affairs between China Center and the Italian government, other governments, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, academic institutions, at bilateral, regional and international level;
  • to act as a point of reference, in Italy, in particular in the Adriatic-Ionian Region, for research on Law of the Sea and Maritime Affairs on the Asian seas.
