UniMC launches a new Double Degree with the Katholische Universität Eichstätt-Ingolstadt

The University of Macerata takes a new step forward in its internationalization strategy. The Department of Education, Cultural Heritage and Tourism has signed a bilateral agreement with the Faculty of Business Administration and the Faculty of Mathematics and Geography at the Katholische Universität Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (KU) in Germany, aimed at establishing a double-degree program.

Through this new mobility opportunity, selected students will be able to obtain two academic qualifications:

  1. Master’s Degree in International Tourism and Destination Management (LM-49) – UniMC
  2. Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Tourism and Sustainable Regional Development – Management and Geography – KU

Program structure

The Double Degree is organized over four semesters, with study periods alternating between the two partner universities.

  • 1st semester: students attend courses at their home university.
  • 2nd semester: KU students move to UniMC, while UniMC students follow the curriculum at their home institution.
  • 3rd semester: UniMC students spend the semester at KU, while KU students return to Germany.
  • 4th semester: students return to their home university to complete their curriculum and write their master’s thesis, which will be jointly supervised by two professors—one from each university—and written in English.

The program includes a defined set of common modules, which students must complete according to the curricula agreed upon by both institutions.

Available places and financial conditions

Up to 5 UniMC students and 5 KU students will be selected each year.
Students will pay tuition fees only at their home university.

Admission procedures

UniMC students will be selected through a public call issued by the Department of Education, Cultural Heritage and Tourism.
Applicants must be enrolled in the Master’s Degree program in International Tourism and Destination Management.
