Censis -Italian Centre for Statistics- awarded the University of Macerata for its international dimension, facilities and services. Three departments placed among Italian top 10.

The University of Macerata is the most international in Marche region, according to the general ranking that every year Censis elaborates for the Italian newspaper la Repubblica and which awarded the University of Macerata with 87 points as regard as internationalization. This was the 5th best score among 17 medium-sized universities – those with 10.000/20.000 enrolled students – and the best one among all the regional ones. This score was the result of the more and more international dimension of the University, achieved through a post graduate curriculum entirely held in English (International economic and trade relations), which last year attracted many students from India and China; a joint degree programme (Cultural Heritage Management) with the University Pierre Mendés of Grenoble, France; three summer schools and a winter school provided in collaboration with famous universities like Princeton.

In 2012/2013 academic year the University further enriched its programmes with new international post graduate programmes: Modern Languages for International Communication and Cooperation in collaboration with the University Blaise Pascal, France, and Planning and Management of Tourism Systems with the University of Oviedo, Spain.

The University of Macerata also placed 4th among medium-sized universities for the quality of its student facilities, above all classrooms, libraries and sports facilities. As regard as university programmes, two departments – Education and Arts and humanities – placed again among Italian top 10 universities and they get triple A together with Political Sciences. Economics made a good recovery compared to last year, gaining back 9 positions, while Law maintained its position.

"The University of Macerata – says Chancellor Luigi Lacchè – keeps consolidating the quality of courses and research and increasing the services for its students. Significantly, it placed 9th among all medium-sized universities. It is more and more international and offers excellent facilities. Last academic year students kept enrolling in large numbers; this confirms that we’re doing our best to provide quality services and innovative courses and it’s a challenge for a further improvement".
