DL@WEB Europen project

DL@WEB Europen project

On 30 and 31 October 2012 a delegation from Serbian and Montenegrin high education institutions visited the University of Macerata on the occasion of the European project Dl@web. The delegation was composed by professors and managers from the Serbian universities of Belgrade, Kragujevac and Nis and from the Montenegrin University Mediterranean. They met the staff of the University of Macerata responsible for e-learning services. The project will come to an end in 2012 and it aims at promoting the innovation of High Education in the Balcans and improving the quality of distance tuition in order to introduce quality standards. The project is championed by the Serbian, Montenegrin and Macedonian Ministries of Education, National Associations for Higher Education and Accreditation Committees. The University of Macerata is a partner for the project and it is coordinating the design of guidelines for the quality of e-learning. Chancellor’s Delegate for e-learning activities, Professor Giannandrea, took positive stock of the situation: “The study visit focused on the use we make of  new technologies to organize e-learning activities and supply innovative services to students and the whole university staff”. Quality and e-learning not only are the keywords of the Dl@web project, but they also represent two core points of our University, which during the last years received credit at many levels. In 2008 the University of Macerata placed among the first 45 finalist organizations for the Quality Award in Public Administration fostered by the Ministry of Reform and Innovation. In 2009, some departments and services of our University were awarded with the quality certification for the design and supply of both classroom-based traditional lectures and distance tuition. In addition, the University of Macerata is one of the 7 European institutions which on 24 September 2009 were awarded with the UNIQUE accreditation for the quality of e-learning and the use of new technologies.
